LDC TVs Comparisons From JVC To Sony

The word 'compare', according to standard dictionaries simply means 'to estimate the similarities or dissimilarities.' However the task of comparing is not simple. It is a tough job. Particularly, when it comes to electronic equipments like Lcd TV comparisons, for example it is more tough. I realized this simple fact when I set upon myself the onerous task of comparing TVs. But then the list was huge there were ordinary standard TVs, Plasma TVs, High Definition (HD)TVs, LCD TVs, Flat panel TVs - the list seems to grow as one goes deeper and deeper. In the beginning it was confusing. Slowly it dawned upon me that all TVs were the same. TVs are TVs after all, but the difference lies in the technology behind the displays. For instance the standard TVs used Cathode Ray Tube to project the display, whereas the LCD TVs use Liquid crystals gels for display. Incidentally, LCD is an acronym for Liquid Crystal Display. As the name suggests, TVs based on LCD technology use the property of polarized light for display. Typically, these TVs have two thin, wafer-like polarized panels and in between these panels, a thin liquid crystal gel which is divided into individual pixels, is sandwiched. By applying electric current, the ability of the crystals to allow light through the crystals can be altered.

But why comparison of LCD TVs? Because LCD TVs have a lot of advantages. For instance, LCD TVs are not affected by altitudes nor do they suffer burn in. They are less expensive and weigh less and consequently they facilitate easy transport and installation. Unlike other TVs, LCD TVs will work effectively in almost any kind of room lighting from bright to ambient. Further because of brighter screen displays coupled with a high contrast and flicker free picture watching them is easier than a cathode ray tube (CRT) model. In comparison with plasma TV's LCD TV's run cooler than them. With 60,000 hours of picture life, they consume less electricity than a plasma TV.

Given below are some examples of LCD TVs to help compare. However be warned that a comparison to be perfect or near perfect one has to compare like with the like. For instance, we should not compare a 32 inch LCDTV with a 42 inch or 46 inch LCD TV because the comparison will not yield the correct result. A 32 inch LCDTV should always be compared with a 32 inch LCDTV in order to help decide. One more caution: The list given below is a random selection and should in not under any circumstances be taken as exhaustive or comprehensive.
